U18AA Queens move to 2-0 on weekend
The Thunder Bay U18AA Sportop Queens continued their winning ways Saturday morning on Day 2 of play in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League facing the Northern Elite All-stars.

The Queens would open the scoring with 2:15 left in the first period as Akira Tatebe would bang home a rebound off of a nifty 3 on 2 rush. Rhae Thomas and Makenzee Kostiuk would have assists on the goal.

Thomas would make it 2-0 late in the second period on a short handed rush as her snap shot would get redirected and beat the goal tender.

Half way through the third period, Brooklyn Voortman would make it 3-0 banging home a rebound off of a goal mouth scramble. Katy Lacosse and Bridget Cameron would add helpers on the goal.

Finally, Tatebe would be at it again as she would snap home a quick pass off of the face off from Rhae Thomas to make it 4-0.

The Northern Elite All-stars would make things interesting with two late third period goals but the Queens would hang on for the 4-2 victory.
Shots on goal favoured the Queens 33-18. Abby Wills had the win in goal.
