Strasser & Lang PW Queens Tie Westfort Rangers Peewee AA

THUNDER BAY, ON — Saturday morning, the Bantam A Queens suited up to play the KC Sabres Peewee AA but had a rough go at it. The Sabres exploded in the first period with four goals (from Nico Simeoni, Evan Simeoni, Reggie Taylor and Luca Jedruch). No goals in the second but Matthew Smelow and another from Jedruch rounded out the 6-0 shutout by the Sabres.

In their afternoon game, the Bantam As took on the Elks 82s, facing a similar outburst as the Elks notched 3 goals in the first (Rashaad Eichenberg, Carter Campbell, and Olivia Brassard) and five more in the second (Theodore McMillan, Gavin Holowanky twice, Owen Bodnar, and Matthew Kim) as the Elks 82s beat the Queens 8-0, giving them a round-robin record of 0-3-1.

Meanwhile, the Strasser & Lang Peewee Queens played their fourth round robin game against the Westfort Rangers. The Rangers scored twice in the first on goals from Tallon Thorsteinson and Bruce Bouchard but the Queens responded with two of their own in the second. Beth Gagnon setup Karlyn Maguire-Stein to get their team on the board and then Edelweiss Price would tie it up after a beauty feed from Kingston Golding. 2-2 after two.

In the third, Brynn Hannula continued her offensive ways, getting on the scoresheet with the go-ahead goal. 3-2 Queens. Under two minutes later, however, the Rangers would tie it back up on a goal from Ethan Hamilton. The Queens would need to kill three minor penalties in the final period to hang onto the 3-3 tie, earning them a round-robin record of 0-2-2.
