Perfect Peewees Earn Bye to the Quarters

MISSISSAUGA, ON — The Peewee Queens taking their first two games 1-0 and 3-0 (with two empty net goals) hoped to remain perfect in game three but also to provide their goaltending some run-support so they wouldn’t have to be perfect as well.

A scoreless first period led to an outbreak of scoring in the second as Thunder Bay posted four unanswered goals. Bridget Cameron got things rolling early in the period and Makara Magbanua would put in another just 1:14 later. Makenzee Kostiuk fired home the Queens’ third of the game and Cameron would bookend the scoring 1:11 after that with her second goal and the final goal in the game. Abby Wills kept her, and the team’s, shutout streak going stopping all 14 shots.

The 3-0-0 record with a goal differential of +8 easily put the Peewee Queens first in their pool but also the top team in the entire Peewee division. They’ll play at 7:00pm Saturday evening in the Quarterfinals against an opponent to be determined.
