Peewee Queens Goalies Perfect So Far

MISSISSAUGA, ON — After squeaking out a 1-0 win, the Peewee Queens took on the Mississauga Chiefs looking to remain perfect.

The Peewee Queens dominated early but the Chiefs goalie wasn’t letting anything through, including stopping a breakaway and some hectic 4-on-4 play. Finally, late in the second period, Brynn Hannula broke the shutout sneaking a puck five-hole on the backhand.

Mississauga pressured hard for the equalizer in the third but Alexandra Young would make the big saves to keep the narrow lead. The Chiefs pulled their goalie late for the extra attacker but Makenzee Kostiuk would bury an empty netter. Now two goals down, Mississauga remained 6-on-5 to try and score twice but Makara Magbanua would pot another empty netter. 3-0 final.

The Queens remain perfect going 2-0 on Friday and their goalies Alexandra Young and Abby Wills were also perfect, earning shutouts in, what were, essentially 1-0 wins (not including empty net goals).

Saturday morning at 9:15am, the Peewees will play the Markham-Stouffville Stars.
