Bantam As Reach Semis in Chippewa FallsCHIPPEWA FALLS, WI — The Bantam A Queens are in Wisconsin this weekend for Chippewa Falls’ U14 Tournament. In their opening matchup against Wayzata on Saturday, the Queens found themselves down two goals in the third period when Chloe Allam would get the Queens on the board to cut the lead to one. Shortly after Rayne Bechard would score to tie the game. Goalie Mia Attema’s 20 saves would hold the fort for the Queens to earn a tie.
In the afternoon, the Queens looked to pick up a “W” against the Superior Spartans in hopes of ensuring a semifinal spot. Thunder Bay doubled up on Superior in the first outscoring them 2-1 on goals from Cayla Wesley and Paige Fucile. The Queens would again outscore the Spartans 2-1 in the second off of goals from Jenna Mazan and Jenna Jackson to make it 4-2. Lindsey Kubenic would notch a third period goal while goalie Presley Brohm turned away 25 shots in a 5-2 win.
Sunday morning, the Queens will face the host Chippewa Falls in the semifinals.
