Low Scoring Affairs at 2 Nations

BRAMPTON, ON — The Sportop Midget AA Queens looked to continue their unbeaten streak on day two of the 2 Nations College Prep Series on Saturday morning as they took on the St. Albert Slash. St. Albert jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first and then score again in the third. The Queens were unable to get on the scoreboard and they’d lose their first game of the weekend 2-0.

With a 2-1 record, the Queens were matched up against the Chicago Young Americans on Saturday afternoon. The Queens drew first blood late in the second period on a goal by Jocelyn Wojciechowski. Early in the third the Midget AAs extended their lead with two quick goals, first from Brenna Nicol and then just over two minutes later, Alexis Paddington would score the insurance marker. Goalie Kamryn Sandelovich would earn a shutout, leading the Queens to a 3-0 victory.

Sunday morning the Sportop Midget AA Queens will take on Team Illinois at 8:30am.

Meanwhile, the Bantam AA Queens had been playing some tightly contested games in their division, losing 1-0 and then winning 2-0. This trend continued as the Bantam AAs dropped their morning game 2-0 to the Barrie Sharks and their evening game 1-0 to the Toronto Leaside Wildcats.

Any Sunday games for the Bantam AAs have yet to be determined.
