THUNDER BAY, ON — After dropping their first game of the Keating Fall Classic in a shootout, the defending Atom division Champion Gridlink Queens looked to get back on track against the KC Devils. Midway through the first period Grace Dorey would take a feed from Olivia Vinet and score to take an early lead but the Devils would get their due when Anthony Guidolin scored to tie the game. With a 1-1 draw going into the third period Shayla Stokaluk would deal with the Devils by scoring two goals in her next couple shifts. Talen Wrigley would cut the lead to one scoring for KC late but Ava Hrubeniuk’s empty netter extinguished the Devils’ hopes of a comeback. 4-2 final.
In the Peewee AA division, the Queens looked to extend their winning ways against the host Westfort Rangers. The teams would exchange a goal each in the first as Rhae Thomas scored on a setup by Taylee Marks and Emily Bragnalo but Westfort’s Liam Duclos would score just over a minute later. The 1-1 draw held through the second period and half of the third when the Rangers would take the lead on goal from Nicholas Silvaggio. Queens netminder Alexandra Young denied any more scoring chances in order to give her team a chance of coming back but Rangers goalie Calum Keating was equal to the task as well as the game ended in a 2-1 loss.
