Midget AA Queens edged in series finale by Shattuck-St. Mary’s

FARIBAULT, Minn.  – The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens wrapped up a three-game series in Faribault, Minn., Sunday vs. a strong Shattuck-St. Mary’s Sabres Prep School side with a narrow 3-2 setback Sunday afternoon at the SSM Ice Arena.

After dropping the first two contests of the set Saturday, Thunder Bay grabbed an early lead on the Sabres thanks to a Jayda MacArthur marker in the first period on an assist from Amanda Pages.

Following a scoreless middle stanza, Shattuck-St. Mary’s outscored Thunder Bay 3-1 in the third to pull out the close victory.

Molly Kunnas supplied the second Queens tally on a set-up from Madeline Browczuk.

Aden Johnson turned in a strong performance in goal for Thunder Bay despite the defeat.
