Thunder Bay earned their medal at the tourney after narrow, hard-fought 2-1 setback vs. the host Sudbury Lady Wolves in the championship game Sunday afternoon.
After a scoreless first period, Sudbury struck twice in a 32-second span, including once on the power play, in the second to take a two-goal lead into the final frame.
The Queens got one back with 10:37 remaining in regulation as Brynne Lambert scored with assists going to MacKenzie Lehto and Jocelyn Wojciechoswski.

They advanced to the final earlier in the day after blanking the Timmins Falcons 5-0 in semifinal action.
Like the title contest, this one was scoreless as well after one period, but Thunder Bay struck four times in the middle stanza to take control.
Madison Fullum, Breanna Veneruz, Brooke Herman and Jamie Ricklefs all tallied in the frame.
Ricklefs then added one more in the third to round out the scoring.
Hanna Whalen also chipped in with three assists while Fullum added a pair of helpers.
Anjelina Badanai and Ivall shared the shutout in the triumph.
Over the course of the three-day tourney the Queens finished with a solid 4-1 record.
