THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Queens will have three of their five teams on the tournament trail this weekend.

The Topper’s Pizza midget A side will be in northern Ontario competing in the Sudbury Snowflake Challenge while the bantam AA and peewee Queens are heading to Blaine, Minn., to take part in the Centennial Cougars Super Chill event.

Game action for the midget A’s begins Friday at 11 a.m. as they take on the host Sudbury Lady Wolves.

They will then return to the ice later that evening with a 9 p.m. meeting with the Timmins Falcons.

Providing the opposition for Thunder Bay Saturday will be the North Bay Ice Boltz at 2:30 p.m.

All four clubs in the midget A division will advance to semifinal play Sunday at 10 a.m. with the winners there moving on to the championship game at 3:15 p.m.

In Minnesota, the bantam AA side will commence competition Friday night at 8:05 p.m. vs. the St. Cloud Huskies.

Two more tilts await the squad Saturday starting at 8 a.m. against the Cottage Grove Wolf Pack before concluding the day with a 3 p.m. match-up with the host Centennial Cougars.

As for the peewees, they too open up Friday as they tangle with the Chaska-Chanhassen Storm Hawks at 7:30 p.m.

The North Wright County Riverhawks await the club Saturday at 9:15 a.m. before they meet the peewee Centennial side at 3:15 p.m.

Further games for both the bantam AA and peewee Queens will be determined on their round robin results.
