Bantam A Queens earn bronze at Super Rink SpectacularBLAINE, Minn. – The Thunder Bay Tim Hortons bantam A Queens have wrapped up play at the Mounds View Mustangs Super Rink Spectacular in Blaine, Minn., by winning the bronze medal.
Thunder Bay earned the third place trophy after blanking the Coon Rapids Cardinals 1-0 Sunday.
Caitlin Olinski notched the lone tally in the contest early in the third period with an unassisted effort.
Mya Gowanlock posted the shutout in the triumph.
In round robin play Thunder Bay opened up with another shutout by Gowanlock as they earned a 3-0 decision over the St. Francis Saints.
Jessie Scott, Mackenzie Christie and Olinski had the goals for the Queens.
The club’s second game in Blaine saw them skate to a 1-1 draw with the Andover Huskies.
Sarah Grieve had the tally for Thunder Bay.
The Queens then fell 5-0 to the Minnetonka Skippers, which sent them to the third place final.
The bantam A’s return to the tournament trail next weekend as they take part in the local Robins Donuts tourney.
