The team’s performance saw them go undefeated with a flawless record of four consecutive wins, with netminders Kay Ramage and Klara Wilson back stopping the team and earning a combined four shutouts on the weekend.
In the highly anticipated championship game, the Queens met the challenge head-on, with Kay Ramage returning between the pipes. Goals from Grace Vinet and Chloe Shewchuk provided the offensive spark needed to lift the team to a 2-0 victory. Makayla Heino's assist on Shewchuk's goal sealed the deal, sending the Queens home with the championship trophy. Their unwavering determination and strong conditioning have been a key to their success, allowing them to maintain a relentless pace and dominate their opponents.
The U11A Queens also traveled to Sault Ste. Marie, MI, this weekend for their first tournament of the season, also competing in the "Boo in the Sault." The team started strong on Friday with a 2-2 tie against the Kensington Valley Ravens, followed by back-to-back wins on Saturday with decisive leads over the Superior Jr. Ice Breakers and the Midland Hornets. On Sunday, the Queens fell just short in a 3-2 loss to the Sault Ste. Marie Jr. Greyhounds, finishing 3rd overall in the tournament.
