Peewee Queens Take Bronze at Cupid ClassicBLOOMINGTON, MN — The GridLink Atom Queens would drop their final game of the tournament against Anoka/Rogers. Anoka scored the first three goals of the game to put it out of reach. Thunder Bay responded with a late goal by Brynn Hannula in the 3-1 loss. The GridLink Queens leave the Cupid Classic with a record of 2-2-1 in the 10U A division.
Meanwhile the Peewee Queens got put into the Championship bracket in the 12U A division. Thunder Bay would lose in the semi-finals to the 3rd ranked team in Minnesota, Eagan, by a score of 1-0. This relegated the Queens to the bronze medal game against 5th ranked team in the state, Owatonna, which yielded another 1-0 game but this time it was the Queens coming out on top with Akira Tatebe playing the role of hero scoring the only goal of the game, while Mia Attema stymied Owatonna shutting them out and earning the girls 3rd place.
