Bantam AA & peewee Queens take Super Chill openersBLAINE, Minn. – The Thunder Bay bantam AA and peewee Queens both posted shutouts in their respective opening games Friday at the Centennial Super Chill tournament in Blaine, Minn.
The bantams rolled over the St. Cloud Huskies 11-0 while the peewees got by the Chaska-Chanhassen Storm Hawks 2-0.
Alexis Paddington opened the scoring by splitting the defence and going top shelf to send Thunder Bay on their way in the bantam AA contest.
Kendra Fortin followed that up by banging home a rebound for a shorthanded tally to make it 2-0.
Paddington went on to notch three more goals to give her four on the night while Fortin added two to finish off a hat trick.
Sarah Grieve chipped in with a pair of markers while Sydney White and Olivia Nicholl supplying singles.
Lindsay Humeniuk posted the shut out.
Two more tilts await the squad Saturday beginning with a morning contest vs. the Cottage Grove Wolf Pack before concluding the day with a 3 p.m. match-up with the host Centennial Cougars.
As for the peewees, they too have two tilts on their slate Saturday meeting the North Wright County Riverhawks at 9:15 a.m. before they take on the peewee Centennial side at 3:15 p.m.
