The Queens had an exciting and action-packed opening weekend, participating in two key tournaments and showcasing their talent and determination across different age groups.

THUNDER BAY – Three of the Thunder Bay Queens teams are making some noise this weekend, all going undefeated in round robin play to place first in their pools respectively.

The Mallon’s Play It Again Sports U18AA Thunder Bay Queens have returned home from the North American Showcase with gold! They would knock off the host Durham West Lightning to capture the U18AA North American Showcase Championship. Addison Chown opened the scoring with a great net drive to bang home a Keira Stokaluk rebound. Bridget Cameron would add to the lead snapping a shot over the glove of the goaltender to make it 2-0. The Mallon's Play it Again Sports U18AA Queens are participating in their second road trip of the Season attending the Durham West North American Showcase. They opened their first game of the tournament against the Central York Panthers.Brooklyn Voortman would bang home a Taylee Marks point shot to open the scoring with 8 minutes left in the first period. The teams would play a tight checking  game the next two periods. Taylee Marks and Makara Magnanua would seal the win late in the game with empty net goals.
