Thunder Bay U18AA Sportop Queens vs Minnesota Black
The Thunder Bay U18AA Sportop Queens were handed their first defeat of the weekend Saturday afternoon at the hands of the Minnesota Black.
Minnesota would open the scoring at 12:44 of the first period. With 1:58 remaining in the period, Makara Magbanua would make a great stretch pass to Bridget Cameron and send her in on a 2 on 1 with Brooklyn Voortman and Voortman would make no mistake banging home her own rebound, to tie the game at 1-1.
A sluggish second period would be costly for the Queens as they would give up 3 straight goals and be down 4-1 after two periods.
A scoreless third period wasn’t good enough as the Queens would suffer their first loss of the weekend 4-1.
