Sportop Queens Take 4th in Winnipeg, News, Mallon's Play it Again Sports U18AA Thunder Bay Queens, U18, Queens (Thunder Bay Women's Hockey Association)

WINNIPEG, MB — The Sportop Midget AA Queens took 4th place in the Female World Sport School Challenge in Winnipeg dropping the Bronze Medal match against the Balmoral Hall Blazers by a score of 5-1. 

Recapping the weekend, the Queens had previously beat Balmoral by a 5-1 of their own in round robin action thanks in large part to a hat trick from Allyson Lesperance and three assists from Mackenzie Lehto. They then dropped a 3-0 decision to St. Mary’s Academy Flames but bounced back by defeating Banff Hockey Academy 5-2 on the strength of twin 2-goal efforts from Kaylee Grosjean and Vanessa Nicholl. A second loss to St. Mary’s in the semi-finals relegated the Queens to the Bronze Medal game.
