Midget A Queens improve to 2-0-1 at Clendenning Memorial Showcase
FORT FRANCES, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Topper’s Pizza midget A Queens remain unbeaten through three games at the 2nd annual Scott Clendenning Memorial Showcase in Fort Frances after defeating the Thunder Bay midget Fury 3-1 Saturday evening.
Cassandra Carigni staked the Queens to an early lead as she notched the lone marker of the opening period.
After a scoreless second stanza, the Queens tacked on two more in the third to go up by three on efforts from Jamie Ricklef and Brynne Lambert.
The Fury dashed Anjelina Badanai’s shutout bid with three and a half minutes remaining in the contest on an Alex Case effort to round out the scoring.
The 2-0-1 Queens wrap up play in Fort Frances Sunday at 10:30 a.m. when they take on the Dryden Eagles.
